State of Project KW (30 June 2023)

Unfortunately I haven’t made much progress this week. I’ve had to spend it reinstalling everything, setting up my development workflow all over again, and just all-around inconvenience.

However, some good news is that I have decided to migrate away from relying on GitHub! I now self-host my own git service using Gitea, and my own issue tracker with YouTrack, and my own CI/CD pipeline using TeamCity.

I still use GitHub, and I’ll never leave it, but this setup now means I have mirrors. My VPS-hosted Git service is my origin remote, GitHub and GitLab are my mirrors to which Project KW is backed up in the event any of the other mirrors go down.

I also managed to come up with a solution about how the ball should resolve collisions. The answer was staring me in the face. A kinematic rigidbody! Thank you, Will.

So that’s how I’ll spend this week. Fixing collisions. This post is short and sweet, not much else to say I’m afraid.

See you next week!
